Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) - Offered through the US Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration, this federal incentive offers a tax credit for hiring from twelve targeted groups. HIRE Tax Credit - Enacted on March 19, 2010, this tax credit actually offers 2 benefits to business hiring individuals between Jan 1, 2010 and Jan 1, 2011. Businesses may qualify for a 6.2 percent payroll tax incentive as well as an additional $1000 general business tax credit. Illinois Small Business Job Creation Tax Credit - Signed into law April 2010, this tax credit is a one year credit for businesses with fewer than 50 employees that hire new, full time employees during the 12-month period from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.
