NCI Works announced today that they will be celebrating the US Department of Labor’s fifth annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) with a signing event on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 10am at the NCI Works One-Stop Center in Ottawa. In addition to celebrating National Apprenticeship Week, the event will also spotlight the new NCI Works Certified Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. NCI Works members and affiliated agencies, including BEST, Inc. and Illinois Valley Community College, have worked closely with the US Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeships in Rockford, IL to create an apprenticeship program that will address the professional needs of participating healthcare providers and their employees. The November 13th event will feature the signing by St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley as one of those participating providers. National Apprenticeship Week was established by the US Department of Labor to celebrate the impact apprenticeships have in helping Americans learn skills for jobs in growing industries. Hundreds of events and activities will be taking place all over the country and include open houses, community forums, apprenticeship signing days, and industry roundtable events.
