Construction Supervisor

Basic Function:

This position is responsible for managing contract and internal resources for construction activities related to the construction of a new manufacturing plant to ensure safe execution per schedule and budget goals.

 Responsibilities:

• Coordinate construction activities.
• Interface with engineering and plant groups as necessary to meet needs.
• Ensure contract services are performed in accordance with Cristal's policies and practices and in accordance with contract documentation.
• Perform safety audits on contractors to ensure compliance with SHE policies.
• Issue work permits for services.
• Maintain and encourage collaborative resolution of work problems among contractors and work groups.
• Work with Project Managers, Contracted Engineers and contractors to resolve any construction issues.
• Participate in project development activities and constructability reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

This position reports to the Director, Engineering. Hours are normally 7am to 4pm but occasionally on call 24 hours a day.  Some travel may be required.

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in construction and/or plant maintenance.
• A detailed knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment installation is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and other technical documents.
• Experienced in the supervision of union and non-union workers is desirable.
